The Black Fathers Town Hall, led by S-Quire Johnson of the Fatherhood Initiative, is a dedicated support group that offers a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for Black fathers to connect, share lived experiences, and engage in meaningful conversations that impact their families and futures.
Objective:
Objectives of the Black Fathers Town Hall Initiative:
- Explore and define the characteristics of a healthy Black family, fostering dialogue around family dynamics, values, and resilience.
- Identify and connect fathers to community resources that can support their parenting journey and overall family well-being.
- Promote the importance of self-care, mental health, and wellness as vital components of fatherhood and personal development.
- Encourage advocacy in education to empower fathers to be active participants in their children's academic success.
- Foster community engagement and relationship-building to strengthen support networks and amplify collective impact.
