The University of Toronto’s Temerty Faculty of Medicine, Office of Access and Outreach, in partnership with Toronto Employment & Social Services, invites Grade 10–11 students from underrepresented (i.e. Black, Indigenous, Filipino, Latin American), or socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, to a virtual information session on the Summer Mentorship and STEAM Design Programs.
Objective:
This session aims to:
- Explore diverse career pathways in the health sciences
- Provide insight into gaining practical experience and connecting with mentors
- Help bridge barriers that may impact access to health science careers
- Share tools, experiences, and mentorship opportunities to support student success
- Offer the chance to meet former participants, ask questions, and determine whether this opportunity is a good fit
Participants will learn more about available programs, hear directly from past students about their experiences, and receive guidance on next steps toward a career in the health sciences.
We encourage students who are curious about medicine, research, public health, or other health-related fields to attend and learn more about the supports and opportunities available to them.
