Eating Healthy on a Budget & Access to Recreation - An Investing in Families virtual workshop hosted by Public Health, Toronto Employment & Social Servies, and Parks & Recreation

Objective:
This virtual workshop will provide you with information on:
- planning healthy meals for your family and getting the best value for money in all food categories
- maximizing your grocery budget and reducing food waste
- the benefits of recreation for overall health and well-being
- how to access community recreation programs and the Welcome Policy subsidy
Session Topics:
10:00 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. Eating Healthy on a Budget (Presented by Toronto Public Health)
With rising food costs, this workshop will explore practical strategies to help families save on groceries. Topics include meal planning with children, smart shopping tips, identifying “best buys” across food categories, and reducing food waste to stretch every dollar.
11:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Introduction to Recreation: Access, Benefits & Opportunities (Presented by Parks, Forestry & Recreation)
This session will highlight the value of recreation for health and well-being, showcase available community programs, and guide participants through registration processes and the Welcome Policy. Ideal for those new to recreation or looking to get more involved.
