Stephen Longstaff
Stephen Longstaff has spent more than 35 years teaching and writing on social history at York University. Prior to that he spent 7 years working for the Commission on Bilingualism and Biculturalism in Ottawa, where he headed up one of its major in-house studies. Raised in Toronto, he has a B.A. from McGill and a Ph.D. from the Univ. of California, Berkeley, where he was a visiting scholar in 1997-98. Still active in a limited way at York, he retains the title of Professor Emeritus & Senior Scholar.The current and historical agencies or bodies for which this member is appointed.
