Summary

Dufferin Park Avenue sits at the top of Dufferin Grove Park and connects residents to fun park activities, students to St. Mary Catholic Academy, and visitors to popular events in the new clubhouse. I have heard from residents and Parks and Recreation staff that limited parking on Dufferin Park Avenue is creating challenges for programming and deliveries.

Currently, parking is prohibited at all times on the north side of Dufferin Park Avenue, and for a large section on the south side. This has reduced parking availability and created significant challenges for Parks and Recreation staff, who face difficulty accessing the park for work and programming.

Transportation Services determined that amendments to the on-street parking restrictions will create additional on-street parking spaces. City staff also noted that parking regulations on a section of the roadway must be upgraded to improve visibility for pedestrians and cyclists. The following recommendations are supported by Transportation Services and will improve parking availability and safety for staff and visitors to the area.
