The Toronto Long-Term Care Home Advisory Committee (TLTCHAC) provide advice and input to the General Manager and senior staff of the Seniors Services and Long-Term Care (SSLTC) Division on issues related to the current care and future needs of long-term care residents, to foster innovation and strengthen community in the City’s long-term care (LTC) homes.

Composition

The Committee may be composed of up to 12 members.

Term of Office

Each member shall be appointed for a term of 3 years.

Public Members may be appointed for one additional term. Incumbents may renew their term by indicating in writing to the General Manager, Seniors Services and Long-Term Care at least 3 months in advance of term expiration. Public Members may not sit for more than two consecutive terms.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for appointment to the Forum, public members must meet the eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a resident of the City of Toronto;
  • Cannot be a spouse, partner, child or parent of a Member of Toronto City Council;
  • Cannot be a City employee or an employee of a City agency or corporation.

Meeting and Time Commitment

Meetings are three to four times a year, each meeting is approximately 90-120 minutes in length. Meetings are held in-person. A virtual participation option will be available to Public Members who confirm in advance that they are unable to attend in person. At least one meeting will be held within a City long-term care home.
