Recommendations

Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik recommends that:

1. Toronto and East York Community Council request the General Manager, Transportation Services to conduct a transportation analysis of the Wellington Place neighbourhood and the recent traffic pattern changes on Portland Street, including impacts on Front Street, Bathurst Street and Spadina Avenue, and report back to Toronto East York Community Council in the first quarter of 2027.

Summary

My office has heard from residents and the Wellington Place Neighbourhood Association about the need for a comprehensive analysis of how the many transit and transportation projects in the area are working together to achieve their intended objectives, including improved safety, effective congestion management, and fast, reliable transit service in a clear and transparent manner.
