Origin
Summary
The Rowanwood Watermain replacement is a major construction project. Parking restrictions to safely accommodate the construction on Rowanwood Avenue and surrounding streets will temporarily displace residential permit parking. To mitigate the impact on residents with valid street parking permits, Engineering and Construction Services in consultation with Transportation Services recommends permit parking be implemented on a temporary basis on nearby streets, including Mathersfield Drive and Chestnut Park, where existing parking regulations can be adjusted to accommodate displaced permit holders.
At its meeting of May 28, 2026 City Council adopted Item TE33.58 which provided authorization for Toronto and East York Community Council to temporarily implement permit parking on Mathersfield Drive, between Pricefield Road and the Mathersfield Drive east leg and on Chestnut Park, between Roxborough Street East and Thornwood Road, exempt from the petition and polling requirements of subsection 925 of City of Toronto Municipal Code 925, Permit Parking.
