The Toronto and East York Community Council:

1. Amended the standing prohibition in effect at all times, on the east side of Iannuzzi Street, between Fort York Boulevard and a point 52 metres south, to be in effect, between Fort York Boulevard and a point 63 metres south.

2. Authorized parking for a maximum period of 15 minutes, on the east side of Iannuzzi Street, between a point 63 metres south of Fort York Boulevard and a point 15 metres north of Bruyeres Mews.

3. Amended the existing parking prohibition in effect at all times, on the west side of Iannuzzi Street, between Fleet Street and Bruyeres Mews, to be in effect between Fleet Street and Fort York Boulevard.

4. Amended the existing speed limit of kilometres per hour on Iannuzzi Street, between Fleet Street and Bruyeres Mews to be kilometres per hour on Iannuzzi Street, between Fleet Street and Fort York Boulevard

5. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (two speed humps) on Iannuzzi Street, between Fleet Street and Fort York Boulevard, generally as shown in Attachment 3 to the letter (June 19, 2026) from Deputy Mayor Ausma Malik.

My office has been working with local residents, the Fort York Neighbourhood Association, and City staff to prioritize road safety on Iannuzzi Street. These concerns  include  speeding, as well as vehicles parking on the east side of Iannuzzi Street creating sightline concerns for vehicles exiting from a nearby condo complex.

Engineering and Construction Services have determined that Iannuzzi Street has not yet been assumed and/or classified by the City. As a result, physical changes to the road in the form of traffic calming measures (i.e., speed humps), cannot be installed on these road segments at this time. However, bylawing two speed humps on Iannuzzi at this time will greatly expedite their installation by the City once the road is assumed in future.

My recommendations are aimed at ensuring we address Fort York and Ianuzzi Street residents’ concerns through lowering the speed limit, making parking adjustments to facilitate better visibility and sightlines on this street, and allowing for future speed hump installation.
