The Toronto and East York Community Council

1. Rescinded the existing permit parking regulation in effect from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 a.m., daily, on the odd (south) side of Conway Avenue, from Glenholme Avenue to Oakwood Avenue.

2. Authorized parking by permit only to be in effect from 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 a.m., daily, on the even (north) side of Conway Avenue, from Glenholme Avenue to Oakwood Avenue.

3. Rescinded the parking prohibition in effect daily, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, April 1 to November 30, inclusive, on the south side of Conway Avenue, between Glenholme Avenue and a point 30 metres west of Oakwood Avenue.

4. Rescinded the parking prohibition in effect daily, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month, April 1 to November 30, inclusive, on the south side of Conway Avenue, between Glenholme Avenue and Oakwood Avenue.

5. Rescinded the parking prohibition in effect daily, except the 1st Wednesday and 3rd Wednesday of each month, April 1 to November 30, inclusive, on the north side of Conway Avenue, between Glenholme Avenue and Oakwood Avenue.

6. Amended the existing parking prohibition in effect daily, on the south side of Conway Avenue, between a point 30 metres west of Oakwood Avenue and Oakwood Avenue to be in effect between Glenholme Avenue and Oakwood Avenue.

Residents on Conway Avenue have contacted my office regarding issues with on-street permit parking regulations. Currently, the existing switchover parking days significantly reduce street parking availability and have created confusion for residents and visitors. I have also heard that the posted parking signage does not match the signage in other sections of the street, resulting in further confusion and inconsistencies in enforcement. Transportation Services staff conducted a site visit and identified several issues with the posted signage.

In response to these issues, my office conducted a neighbourhood survey to request feedback on potential parking amendments. This survey confirmed strong support for removing switchover days and maintaining parking on the north side of Conway Avenue, where there are significantly more on-street parking spaces. These changes will standardize the parking regulations and increase parking availability for residents and visitors.
