Origin
Summary
The intersection of Turnberry Avenue and Alentejo Street is located within a residential neighbourhood home to General Mercer Junior Public School, Turnberry North Park, Turnberry South Park, S.A.D.R.A. Park, and surrounding residential communities. In 2023, traffic calming measures were installed on Turnberry Avenue, west of Old Weston Road, in response to concerns regarding speeding and dangerous driving.
I have heard from area residents that, while the traffic calming measures have helped, the intersection of Turnberry Avenue and Alentejo Street remains dangerously unsafe. To improve safety, I recommend implementing an all-way stop at this intersection and parking restrictions to clear sightlines for drivers. These measures would directly address safety concerns and support safer conditions for all road users accessing the surrounding parks and school.
