Summary

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision.

Toronto and East York Community Council directed Transportation Services to install backlit chevron signs on the south side of Lake Shore Boulevard East at Woodbine Avenue within the curve in the road, on a pilot basis for up to 24 months. A backlit chevron sign uses LED illumination to enhance the visibility of a standard sign. As part of the pilot project, vehicle speeds and collisions would be monitored before and after the installation, and staff would report back to the Toronto and East York Community Council on the outcome of the installation. This report provides an overview of the assessments and outcomes of the pilot conducted by Transportation Services.
