The Scarborough Community Council:

1. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (fifteen speed humps) on Maybourne Avenue, between St Clair Avenue East and Donside Drive, generally as shown in Attachments 1, 2 and 3, Drawing Nos. TC-757, TC-757-1 and TC757-2, to the letter (July 9, 2026) from Councillor Parthi Kandavel.

Maybourne Avenue is a local residential street that also functions as a neighbourhood thoroughfare between St. Clair Avenue East and Donside Drive. Residents have raised ongoing concerns about speeding, traffic volumes, and road safety, particularly given the number of pedestrians, cyclists, families, seniors, children, and other vulnerable road users who use this street daily.

Through consultation by the Councillor’s office, residents have expressed support for stronger traffic calming measures to help reduce vehicle speeds and improve overall safety and comfort in the neighbourhood. The proposed installation of fifteen speed humps is intended to discourage unsafe driving, calm traffic, and create a safer street environment for all road users.
