City Council Decision

City Council on July 29 and 30, 2026, adopted the following:

 

1. City Council amend the former City of Scarborough Employment Districts Zoning By-law 24982 (Tapscott Employment District) for the lands municipally known as 3030 Markham Road substantially in accordance with the draft Zoning By-law Amendment included as Attachment 5 to the report (June 22, 2026) from the Director, Community Planning, Scarborough District.

 

2. City Council amend City of Toronto Zoning By-law 569-2013 for the lands municipally known as 3030 Markham Road substantially in accordance with the draft Zoning By-law Amendment included as Attachment 6 to the report (June 22, 2026) from the Director, Community Planning, Scarborough District

 

3. City Council authorize the City Solicitor to make such stylistic and technical changes to the draft Zoning By-law Amendment as may be required.

Community Council Recommendations

The Scarborough Community Council recommends that:

 

1. Summary

This Report reviews and recommends approval of the application to amend the Zoning By-law with to permit a gas station with an ancillary retail store and a vehicle washing establishment at 3030 Markham Road. The proposal includes 10 new gas pumps, and a total of eight parking spaces, including one accessible space.

 

The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is consistent with the Provincial Planning Statement (PPS 2024) and conforms to the City's Official Plan. The proposal will serve the local businesses and nearby residents, enhancing available services while supporting the area’s long-term operational and economic viability.

 

The recommended amendments to both the former City of Scarborough Zoning By-law No. 24982 (Tapscott Employment District) and the City of Toronto Zoning By-law 569-2013.
