The Scarborough Community Council:

1. Requested the General Manager, Parks and Recreation to undertake a comprehensive review and assessment of the possibility and feasibility of purchasing 428 Livingston Road North for divisional use, exploring options for parkland, parking lot expansion, or other beneficial community uses for Greenvale Park.

I am requesting the Parks and Recreation Division undertake a review of the possibility of acquiring the property located at 428 Livingston Road North when it becomes available for sale.

428 Livingston Road North has the potential of offering flexible opportunities for beneficial use, including expansion of the existing parkland area, significantly expanding and improving the park parking lot to enhance safety and user access and/or developing other complementary community uses that directly support Greenvale Park operations.

-The property fronts onto Greenvale Park.

-The park currently features a highly utilized baseball diamond. The existing parking lot is frequently inadequate, resulting in vehicles lining up and parking along Greenvale Avenue and Livingston Road North. This overflow parking creates unsafe conditions for pedestrians, park users, and drivers.
 

Securing the property at 428 Livingston Road North to address the park deficiencies would benefit the community and park users and permit holders to fully utilize the sports field.
