Community Council Decision
North York Community Council:
1. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (five speed humps) on Dawlish Avenue between Mildenhall Road and Bayview Avenue, generally as shown on attached Drawing Number ATP-SH-266 dated June 2026, in the attachment to the Letter (June 18, 2026) from Councillor Rachel Chernos Lin.
Origin
Summary
Residents on Dawlish Avenue experience serious traffic safety issues, including many vehicles exceeding the local speed limit.
A community petition showed strong support for traffic calming in the form of speed humps for Dawlish Avenue between Mildenhall Road and Bayview Avenue.
This motion seeks authorization for Transportation Services to install speed humps, as an added traffic calming measure, to deter such behaviour and ensure motorists maintain safe speeds while traveling on Dawlish Avenue. The speed and volume study undertaken as part of the Lawrence Park Transportation Study showed traffic calming is warranted.
