Community Council Decision
The Etobicoke York Community Council:
1. Reduced the speed limit from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on Elena Drive, between Finch Avenue West and Firgrove Crescent.
2. Subject to Etobicoke York Community Council approval of Part 1 above, Etobicoke York Community Council authorized the amendment of Schedule XLV (Part 1) to City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 950, Traffic and Parking, to remove Elana Drive between Firgrove Crescent and Finch Avenue West, from being excluded from the Designated Area such that this portion of highway will then be included within the corresponding designated area in Column 1 in Schedule XLV (Part 1).

Summary
I would like to add the following item to today's agenda; recommendation to change the speed limit on Elana Drive from 40km\h to 30km\h.
Elana Drive is located near Jane and Finch and is frequently used as a short cut to navigate around the busy Jane/Finch intersection. As a result, excessive traffic and speeding occur on Elana Drive, dangerously impacting residents. Thus, I am recommending that the speed limit on Elana Drive be reduced from 40km/h to 30km/h.

Motions
That the Etobicoke York Community Council amend the recommendation in the letter with the following:
"1. Etobicoke York Community Council reduce the speed limit from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on Elena Drive, between Finch Avenue West and Firgrove Crescent.
2. Subject to Etobicoke York Community Council approval of Recommendation 1 above, Etobicoke York Community Council authorize the amendment of Schedule XLV (Part 1) to City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 950, Traffic and Parking, to remove Elana Drive between Firgrove Crescent and Finch Avenue West, from being excluded from the Designated Area such that this portion of highway will then be included within the corresponding designated area in Column 1 in Schedule XLV (Part 1)."
