Summary
On May 26, 2026, Etobicoke York Community Council directed Transportation Services to investigate the feasibility of implementing a left-turn prohibition from Jane Street onto Maple Leaf Drive during peak traffic periods, and report back at its meeting on July 7, 2026.
The purpose of this report is to summarize the investigation conducted about this matter as part of the Maple Leaf and Rustic Neighbourhood Streets Plan, completed in April 2026, and to outline the impact a prohibition on Jane Street to the Maple Leaf and Rustic neighbourhoods.
As the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) operates a transit service on Jane Street and Maple Leaf Drive, City Council approval would be required for turn prohibitions. Turn prohibitions at this location are not supported by staff due to neighbourhood impacts.
