The Etobicoke York Community Council:

1. Received the revised report (June 30, 2026) from the Director, Community Planning, Etobicoke York for information.

This report provides a status update on the Weston in Gear Planning Study (the Study) including Phase 1 findings, consultation events, emerging directions and Study timing.

The Study has engaged with the local community about a renewed vision for built-form, public realm and community benefits for the area. The first phase was completed at the end of 2025 and resulted in a background analysis of the existing conditions in Weston, including thermal comfort, as well as a draft vision and guiding principles. The second phase of the study is concluding and has resulted in emerging directions for the Study and associated community consultation.

The third and final phase of the Study is starting soon. A report to Etobicoke York Community Council with final recommendations from the Study is targeted for the second quarter of 2027. A draft Site and Area Specific Policy (SASP) for Weston and draft Urban Design Guidelines (UDG) will be included with this report.
