Community Council Decision
The Etobicoke York Community Council:
1. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (3 speed humps) on Shockley Drive, between Minglehaze Drive (west intersection) and Gihon Spring Drive, generally as shown in Attachment 1, Drawing No. TC 650, to the report (April 13, 2026) from the Director, Enforcement and Street Management, Transportation Services.
2. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (6 speed humps) on Minglehaze Drive, between Shockley Drive (east intersection) and Alabaster Road, generally as shown in Attachment 2, Drawing No. TC 648, TC 648-1, to the report (April 13, 2026) from the Director, Enforcement and Street Management, Transportation Services.
3. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (3 speed humps) on Alabaster Road, between Gihon Spring Drive and Shockley Drive, generally as shown in Attachment 3, Drawing No. TC 649, to the report (April 13, 2026) from the Director, Enforcement and Street Management, Transportation Services.
4. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (2 speed humps) on Gihon Spring Drive, between Kidron Valley Drive and Steeles Avenue West, generally as shown in Attachment 4, Drawing No. TC 652, to the report (April 13, 2026) from the Director, Enforcement and Street Management, Transportation Services.
5. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (4 speed humps) on Gihon Spring Drive, between Martin Grove Road and Kidron Valley Drive, generally as shown in Attachment 5, Drawing No. TC 653, TC 653-1, to the report (April 13, 2026) from the Director, Enforcement and Street Management Transportation Services.
6. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (3 speed humps) on Plowshare Crescent, between Shockley Drive (west intersection) and Shockley Drive (east intersection), generally as shown in Attachment 6, Drawing No. TC 651, TC 651-1, to the report (April 13, 2026) from the Director, Enforcement and Street Management Transportation Services..
7. Subject to approval of Part 5 above, Etobicoke York Community Council reduce the speed limit from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on Gihon Spring Drive, between Martin Grove Road and Kidron Valley Drive, in conjunction with the installation of speed humps.
8. Subject to approval of Part 7 above, Etobicoke York Community Council authorized the amendment of Schedule XLV (Part 1) to City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 950, Traffic and Parking, to remove Gihon Spring Drive between Martin Grove Road and Kidron Valley Drive, from being excluded from the Designated Area such that this portion of highway will then be included within the corresponding designated area in Column 1 in Schedule XLV (Part 1).

Transportation Services is recommending the installation of speed humps on:
- Shockley Drive between Minglehaze Drive (west intersection) and Gihon Spring Drive
- Minglehaze Drive between Shockley Drive (east intersection) and Alabaster Road
- Alabaster Road between Gihon Spring Drive and Shockley Drive
- Gihon Spring Drive between Kidron Valley Drive and Steeles Avenue West
Staff's assessment indicates the criteria as set out in the updated Traffic Calming Policy has been satisfied. Therefore, speed humps are recommended to be installed on Shockley Drive, Minglehaze Drive, Alabaster Road and a portion of Gihon Spring Drive

That:
1. Etobicoke York Community Council delete Recommendations 5 and 6.
Recommendations to be deleted:
5. Etobicoke York Community Council not authorize the installation of speed humps on Gihon Spring Drive, between Martin Grove Road and Kidron Valley Drive.
6. Etobicoke York Community Council not authorize the installation of speed humps on Plowshare Crescent, between Shockley Drive (west intersection) and Shockley Drive (east intersection).
2. Etobicoke York Community Council authorize the installation of traffic calming (4 speed humps) on Gihon Spring Drive, between Martin Grove Road and Kidron Valley Drive, generally as shown in Attachment 5, Drawing No. TC 653, TC 653-1, dated February 2026 from the Director, Enforcement and Street Management Transportation Services.
