Community Council Decision

The Etobicoke York Community Council:

 

1. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (15 speed humps) on Delta Street, between Evans Avenue and Horner Avenue, generally as shown in Attachment 1, Drawing Nos. TC-656, TC-656-1 and TC-656-2, to the report (April 13, 2026) from the Director, Enforcement and Streets Management, Transportation Services.

 

2. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (16 speed humps) on Gamma Street, between Evans Avenue and Horner Avenue, generally as shown in Attachment 2, Drawing Nos. TC-667, TC-667-1 and TC-667-2, to the report (April 13, 2026) from the Director, Enforcement and Streets Management, Transportation Services.

 

3. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (15 speed humps) on Beta Street, between Evans Avenue and Horner Avenue, generally as shown in Attachment 3, Drawing Nos. TC 658, TC658-1 and TC-658-2 to the report (April 13, 2026) from the Director, Enforcement and Streets Management, Transportation Services.

 

4. Reduced the speed limit from 40 km/h to 30 km/h on Gamma Street, between Horner Avenue and Rimilton Avenue.

Summary

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision.

 

Transportation Services is recommending the installation of speed humps on:

 

- Delta Street between Evans Avenue and Horner Avenue

- Gamma Street between Evans Avenue and Horner Avenue

- Beta Street between Evans Avenue and Horner Avenue

 

Staff's assessment indicates the criteria as set out in the updated Traffic Calming Policy has been satisfied. Therefore, speed humps are recommended to be installed on Delta Street, Gamma Street and Beta Street.
