The Toronto and East York Community Council:

1. Authorized the installation of traffic calming (six speed humps) on Hatherley Road, between Eversfield Road and Harvie Avenue, generally as shown Attachments 2 and 3 to the letter (November 24, 2025) from Councillor Alejandra Bravo.

2. Rescinded the existing parking prohibition in effect at all times on the north and east sides of Hatherley Road, between the west end of Hatherley Road and Eversfield Road.

3. Rescinded the existing parking prohibition in effect at all times on the west and south sides of Hatherley Road, between a point 30.7 metres north of Eversfield Road and a point 30 metres north and west thereof.

4. Prohibited parking to be effect at all times on the south and west sides of Hatherley Road, between the west end of Hatherley Road and Eversfield Road.

5. Prohibited parking to be effect at all times on the north and east sides of Hatherley Road, between a point 60 metres north of Eversfield Road and Woodcroft Crescent.

6. Prohibited parking to be effect from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., daily, on the north side of Hatherley Road, between a point 15 metres west of Ennerdale Road and a point 42 metres further west.

Hatherley Road extends west from a very busy section of Dufferin Street and remains an important connection to numerous neighbourhoods, schools, and parks. Drivers often use Hatherley Road, designated as a local street, to avoid travelling through nearby major intersections. This increased pressure on Hatherley Road has resulted in growing traffic safety issues for residents, including speeding through stop signs and aggressive driving. As many young children live on and walk along Hatherley Road, there is an urgent need for traffic safety improvements.

Through a neighbourhood survey hand-delivered to homes on Hatherley Road, residents voted in strong support of installing speed humps to reduce speeding and improve traffic safety for all residents.
