Origin
Summary
Residents have reached out to my office with concerns about pedestrian safety on Benlamond Avenue and on surrounding neighbourhood streets. Our office has received a petition from residents in support of the installation of speed humps on Benlamond Avenue (between Main Street and Norwood Road) in January 2025. My office directed staff to prepare a report to Toronto and East York Community Council to authorize the installation. Unfortunately, this action was not completed.
Therefore, I am requesting staff to report back to our next Community Council meeting with the required details to authorize the installation of speed humps on Benlamond Avenue and to report back the feasibility of accelerating additional road safety improvements.
