Summary
Fairview Nursing Home provides housing to over 100 long-term care residents and is located in the public laneway east of Gladstone Avenue and south of Collahie Street. Many of the Fairview residents can be found outside the building on walks, meetings with neighbours, or out grabbing fresh air with their families. This public laneway is an important connection for residents and the dedicated staff members working at the nursing home.
Over the past few years, Fairview Nursing Home staff and their residents have experienced an increase in the number of speeding vehicles travelling near their building. Many residents feel unsafe walking down the laneway, which has impacted Fairview’s mission of creating a happy and vibrant community. The installation of speed bumps in this laneway will help to reduce speeding and further improve the quality of life for the many residents who call this neighbourhood their home.
