Community Council Decision

The Toronto and East York Community Council:

 

1. Authorized the installation of speed humps on Charles Street West, between Queen's Park and Bay Street.


2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a By-law to alter the roadway for the installation of seven speed humps on Charles Street West, between Queen's Park and Bay Street, generally as shown on Attachment 2 to the report (May 20, 2025) from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.

Summary

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision.

 

Transportation Services has reviewed the need for speed humps on Charles Street West, between Queen's Park and Bay Street.  The assessment indicates the warrant criteria as set out in the updated Traffic Calming Policy has not been satisfied.  Therefore, staff do not recommend the installation of speed humps on Charles Street West.
