Item - 2025.RA17.3

The Board of Directors of CreateTO:

1. Reconsidered Item RA16.10, headed: “Policy Framework – City Response to Demonstrations”, received by the CreateTO Board on January 30, 2025.

2. Directed the Chief Executive Officer to request the City Manager to inform the Board of CreateTO on the nature and extent of public consultations that have taken place and will take place in the future in relation to the City's Policy Framework - City Response to Demonstrations, with a particular focus on the nature and extent of consultation and engagement with Indigenous Peoples, and the City's overall policy framework in relation to engagement with Indigenous Peoples; and directed the Chief Executive Officer to report back to the Board at the next Board meeting on April 22, 2025 on the status of the request.

I would like to ask the CreateTO Board to reconsider item RA16.10 - Policy Framework – City Response to Demonstrations.  Item RA16.10 was before the Board at our last meeting. I’d like to acknowledge that following the discussion at our last meeting, there was an expectation from some Board Members that there would be further follow up on this item. In particular, Board members were looking to receive further information on consultations that occurred in the course of developing the City’s Policy Framework – City Response to Demonstrations, particularly consultations with Indigenous Peoples. I have discussed this with the Chief Executive Officer, CreateTO and would like to seek approval to reconsider the item. The item will direct the CEO to come back to a future meeting with further information.
