Community Council Decision
North York Community Council:
1. Rescinded the existing parking prohibition in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on the north side of Plewes Road, between Maniza Road and a point 57 metres west.
2. Rescinded the existing parking prohibition in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, on both sides of Katherine Road, between Maniza Road and a point 100 metres west of Maniza Road.
3. Prohibited parking in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, September 1 of one year to June 30 of the next following year, inclusive, on the north side of Plewes Road, between Keswick Road and Ancaster Road.
4. Prohibited stopping in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, September 1 of one year to June 30 of the next following year, inclusive, on the north side of Spalding Road, between Keswick Road and Maniza Road.
5. Prohibited parking in effect from 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, September 1 of one year to June 30 of the next following year, inclusive, on both sides of Katherine Road, between Maniza Road and a point 100 metres west.

Summary
Residents in the area surrounding St. Norbert Catholic School have long had issues with parking. During school pickup and drop-off hours, vehicles parked on the street can cause major disruptions to the flow of traffic, and can cause conflicts between parked vehicles on both sides of the road. Being able to stop for a brief period of time is necessary for parents who drive their kids to school, so no parking is being recommended rather than no stopping, for the streets in the vicinity of St. Norbert Catholic School.
As these issues are only present during the school hours, the parking restrictions will only be in effect from September 1st to June 30th of the following year. On Plewes Road, which is the northmost street and runs parallel with the school’s property, the restrictions only apply during pickup and drop-off hours. On Spalding Road, the timeframe is from 8:00am to 6:00pm. On Katherine Road, the timeframe is from 9:00am to 5:00pm.

Motions
That North York Community Council replace the word "parking" with "stopping" in recommendation 4 so it reads:
4. North York Community Council prohibit parking stopping in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, September 1 of one year to June 30 of the next following year, inclusive, on the north side of Spalding Road, between Keswick Road and Maniza Road.
