City Council Decision
City Council on July 23 and 24, 2025, adopted the following:
1. City Council direct the City Solicitor to attend hearings on appeals of Committee of Adjustment decisions or to appeal a Committee of Adjustment decision on behalf of the City of Toronto at the request of the Executive Director, Development Review, or designate, during the period from the completion of City Council’s July 23 and 24, 2025, meeting to the start of City Council’s October 8, 9 and 10, 2025, meeting; the delegation shall:
a. include authority to direct appropriate City staff to attend at the hearing and for the City Solicitor to retain outside consultants as necessary; and
b. authorize the City Solicitor to take all steps necessary to bring resolution to the matter in consultation with the Ward Councillor and the Executive Director, Development Review.

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, require that Motion MM32.28 be referred to the Executive Committee. A two-thirds vote of the Council Members present is required to waive referral.
