Community Council Decision

The Etobicoke York Community Council:

1. Authorized the installation of speed humps on Corbett Avenue, between Jane Street and Rockcliffe Boulevard/Castleton Avenue.

2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway for the installation of six speed humps on Corbett Avenue, between Jane Street and Rockcliffe Boulevard/Castleton Avenue, generally as shown on Attachment 2, Drawing TC-502 and TC-503, dated April 2025, attached to the report (May 16, 2025) titled "Traffic Calming (Speed Humps) - Corbett Avenue" from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.

Summary

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision.

Transportation Services has reviewed the need for speed humps on Corbett Avenue, between Jane Street and Rockcliffe Boulevard/Castleton Avenue. The assessment indicates the warrant criteria as set out in the updated Traffic Calming Policy has not been satisfied. Therefore, staff do not recommend the installation of speed humps on Corbett Avenue.

That:

1. Etobicoke York Community Council authorize the installation of speed humps on Corbett Avenue, between Jane Street and Rockcliffe Boulevard/Castleton Avenue.

2. Etobicoke York Community Council direct the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway for the installation of six speed humps on Corbett Avenue, between Jane Street and Rockcliffe Boulevard/Castleton Avenue, generally as shown on Attachment 2, Drawing TC-502 and TC-503, dated April 2025, attached to the report titled "Traffic Calming (Speed Humps) - Corbett Avenue" from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.
