The Etobicoke York Community Council

 

1.  Authorized the installation of speed humps on Somerville Avenue, between Weston Road and Gilmour Crescent.

2.  Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway for the installation of two speed humps on Somerville Avenue, between Weston Road and Gilmour Crescent, generally as shown on Attachment 2, Drawing TC-436, to the report (January 31, 2025) from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.

Summary

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision.

 

Transportation Services has reviewed the need for speed humps on Somerville Avenue, between Weston Road and Gilmour Crescent.  The assessment indicates the warrant criteria as set out in the updated Traffic Calming Policy has not been satisfied.  Therefore, staff do not recommend the installation of speed humps on Somerville Avenue.
