The Board of Governors of Exhibition Place:

1. Concurred with the action taken by the Chair and the Chief Executive Officer on February 27, 2025 in approving the award of Contract No. 25-075-57521 (RFT No. EP101-2025) to Superior Boiler Works and Welding Limited for the Emergency Generator Replacement at General Services Building in the amount of $694,786.00 which includes a cash allowance of $100,000.00 but excludes HST; this being the lowest compliant tender submission received following the public tendering of the project.

This report recommends approving a contract with Superior Boiler Works and Welding Limited ("Superior") for the Emergency Generator Replacement at General Services Building. The tender for this contract was issued on January 17, 2025, through Exhibition Place Purchasing and Materials Stores via the Bonfire Online Procurement System, and the recommendation is to award the contract to the lowest compliant bidder meeting tender requirements and specifications within the available budget.

This project is time sensitive as delivery of a generator takes a long time and it is critical to meet operational requirements. The existing generator is a portable unit meant for temporary use and is unable to provide sufficient backup power for the building load.

The Chair of the Board in consultation with the Chief Executive Officer of Exhibition Place approved this contract award on February 27, 2025, pursuant to the authority under the Board Financial By-law 2-18, Article X and seek concurrence of the Board.
