This report responds to the Board recommendation from report EP9.10 adopted at its meeting of April 25, 2024, where the Board directed staff to provide a letter of support to tenants and event organizers at Exhibition Place for events held between May 1 and September 30, 2024, to be considered as Municipally Significant to apply for a Special Occasion Permit or a temporary extension of premises and/or hours for the sale of alcohol at permanently licensed locations on a trial basis, and that staff report back to the Board with an update on the pilot.

Exhibition Place is Canada’s most extensive entertainment venue, hosting more than 1,761 events and attracting more than 5.5 million visitors annually.
