Summary

The Director, Community Recreation, Parks, Forestry and Recreation and the Director, Client and Business Services, Parks Forestry and Recreation will give a presentation on Parks, Forestry and Recreation and School Board Agreements.

 

This presentation will provide an overview of existing school board agreements with Parks, Forestry and Recreation for the facilitation of community programming and services.

Motions

1 - Motion to Amend Item moved by Trustee Maria Rizzo (Out of Order)

That the City-School Boards Advisory Committee recommends that the Executive Committee:

 

1. Request the General Manager, Parks Forestry and Recreation to explore opportunities for joint funding of artificial turf fields on public lands in the City of Toronto.

 

2. Request the General Manager, Parks Forestry and Recreation to begin discussions with the Toronto District School Board, Toronto Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire Viamonde, and Conseil scolaire catholique MonAvenir to actively explore opportunities and engage in discussions for the co-location, and joint funding of artificial turf sports fields, at current or new school and park locations, and possible exclusive use agreements.

 

3. Request additional funding from the Provincial and Federal governments for capital infrastructure improvements.
