Community Council Decision

The Toronto and East York community Council:

 

1.  Amended the existing no stopping in effect from 8:30 a.m., to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday on the south side of Lyall Avenue, between a point 100.6 metres west of Malvern Avenue and a point 21.3 metres further west, to be in effect from 8:00 a.m., to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

 

2.  Amended the existing permit parking regulation in effect from 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. at all times, except no stopping 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, from a point 100.6 metres west of Malvern Avenue, and no parking anytime between a point 6 metres east of Wayland Avenue and a point 13 metres further east of it on the odd (south) side of Lyall Avenue, from Main Street to Pickering Street to be in effect at all times, except no stopping 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, from a point 100.6 metres west of Malvern Avenue, and no parking anytime between a point 6 metres east of Wayland Avenue and a point 13 metres further east.

Summary

My office heard from the Parent Advisory Council and the school administrators at Notre Dame and St John’s Catholic Schools about congestion and parking issues on Lyall Avenue, at Wayland Avenue during morning drop-off. To rectify this, we are recommending the “No Stopping” regulation begin at 8:00 a.m., rather than 8:30 a.m..
