Community Council Decision

The Toronto and East York Community Council:

1. Prohibited vehicles over two metres in width from travelling on the first lane west of Palmerston Avenue, between Barton Avenue and Palmerston Square.

Origin

(December 21, 2023) Letter from Councillor Dianne Saxe

Summary

There is a narrow, crooked lane west of Palmerston Avenue, between Barton Avenue and Palmerston Square, which is not suitable for wide vehicles. Wayfinding apps have been directing an increasing number of large vehicles to attempt to traverse this lane. These attempts have a significant risk of scraping the vehicle against the concrete side walls, causing public and private damage.

To reduce such damage, vehicles greater than two metres in width should be prohibited from travelling on this lane.
