Summary

Parents of students attending Orde St Public School have expressed grave concerns about safety outside the school's main entrance.

Every day, approximately 350 children enter and exit the school through its main entrance, which is located on a high-traffic laneway adjacent to a busy parking lot. Numerous vehicles speed through this laneway, posing significant risks to our children. There have already been several near-miss accidents, and it's only a matter of time before a more severe incident occurs.

Transportation Services agrees that children’s safety in this area can be improved by installing speed humps in the laneway close to the school entrance.
