The Scarborough Community Council:

1. Prohibited stopping at all times on the north side of Cliffside Drive, between a point 22 metres east of Kingston Road and a point 39 metres further east, from November 2, 2024 to July 15, 2025 inclusive.

2. Prohibited parking at all times on the south side of Cliffside Drive, between Kingston Road and East Haven Drive, from November 2, 2024 to July 15, 2025 inclusive.

3. Directed that Cliffside Drive be returned to pre-construction traffic and parking regulations when the project is complete.

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision.

Loftin Construction Management Services is constructing a six-storey residential building at 2217 Kingston Road. The site is located on the southeast corner of Kingston Road and Cliffside Drive.

Access/egress to the construction site is located on the west side of Glen Everest Road. Heavy trucks access the site by travelling eastbound on Cliffside Drive, then reverse southbound on to Glen Everest Road to access the construction gate. As a result, the turning maneuvers required by heavy trucks to access/egress the site on Glen Everest Road conflicts with the parked vehicles on the north side of Cliffside Drive.

In view of the above, Transportation Services is requesting authorization to temporarily prohibit stopping at all times on the north side of Cliffside Drive, in order to facilitate heavy vehicle turning movements at the intersection of Cliffside Drive and Glen Everest Road.
