Community Council Decision
The Scarborough Community Council:
1. Requested that the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services investigate the feasibility of installing pedestrian crossing protections on Sheppard Avenue East between, Meadowvale Road and Durnford Road/Atrium Lane and report back to Scarborough Community Council in the July 8, 2025 meeting.

Summary
Concerns have been raised to my office by residents in the Meadowvale Road and Sheppard Avenue East community regarding the Toronto Transit Commission's decision to remove Bus Stops without protected pedestrian crossings. Residents have been using these bus stops for decades and have let my office know that the removal of the stops would create significant stress, especially for seniors and those who rely on them for daily use. Additionally, there is presently no protected crossing to access Rouge Park along this stretch of Sheppard Avenue East.
In response to these concerns, I request that Traffic Management, Transportation Services in conjunction with the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) discuss the preservation or relocation of the bus stops through investigating the feasibility of installing pedestrian crossing protections on Sheppard Avenue East between, Meadowvale Road and Durnford Road/Atrium Lane.
