Community Council Decision

The Scarborough Community Council:

1. Authorized the installation of a pedestrian crossover (PXO) on Brimorton Drive at Gatineau Hydro Corridor Trail.

Origin

(October 11, 2024) Letter from Councillor Paul Ainslie

Summary

Currently, The Gatineau Hydro Corridor trail crosses Brimorton Drive with no crossing protection. The trail is well used by many pedestrians and cyclist who cross Brimorton Drive unprotected. Additionally, in the absence of a pedestrian crossover, there can be conflicts between motorists and those wishing to cross Brimorton Drive to continue the trail.

The installation of a pedestrian crossover at this location will provide crossing protection as well as give motorists a visual warning of people crossing the road before they arrive at the trail. It should also eliminate any conflicts between motorists and those needing to cross Brimorton Drive.

Recommendation necessary to make the change is before you.
