Motions (City Council)
November 13, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. - Speaker Nunziata advised Council of the following:
Members, I will now review the Order Paper. Once the Order Paper has been approved by Council, any change will need a two‑thirds vote.
The City Clerk has posted today's Order Paper online, with agenda item RM23.7, Review of the Order Paper. If Council adopts any amendments to the Order Paper, they will also be posted with this item.
We have 1 deferred item before us today: DM23.1.
The Mayor has designated Item EX18.2 headed "Build More Homes: Expanding Incentives for Purpose Built Rental Housing" as her first Key Matter and first item of business today.
The Mayor has designated Item PH16.4 on “Implementing a Rental Renovation Licence By-law to Address Renovictions” as her second Key Matter and first item of business tomorrow.
The Notice of Motion run through is scheduled for 2 p.m. tomorrow, only if the Key Matters are completed.
Members, there are some related matters on the agenda that I propose be considered together if they are held: CC23.1 and MM23.14 as they both relate to provincial Bill 212.
If required, I will take Council’s vote on waiving referral of MM23.14 ahead of the Member Motion run-through, for the items to be combined.
That City Council consider the following as the first and second items of business on Day 2 of Council after the Mayor’s Second Key Matter:
EC16.1, headed “Culture Connects: An Action Plan for Culture in Toronto (2025-2035)”; and
EC16.2, headed “Sidewalks to Skylines: An Action Plan for Toronto’s Economy (2025-2035)".
