City Council Decision

City Council on October 9 and 10, 2024, adopted the following:

 

1. City Council amend City of Toronto Municipal Code Chapter 925, Permit Parking, such that, despite anything in the chapter to the contrary, the General Manager, Transportation Services, will not accept applications for a permit from residents of, visitors to or tradespersons at 461 Sheppard Avenue East.

Recommendation to be deleted:

 

1. City Council approve the amendment to 925-4.C. of the City of Toronto Municipal Code, Chapter 925, Permit Parking, despite anything in this chapter to the contrary, the General Manager shall not accept applications from residents of, visitors to, or tradespersons at the development located at 461 Sheppard Avenue East, as shown in Attachment 1 to the report (September 6, 2024) from the Director, Permits and Enforcement, Transportation Services.
 

and adopt instead the following:

North York Community Council recommends that:

 

1. Summary

As the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) operates a transit service on Sheppard Avenue East, City Council approval of this report is required.

 

The purpose of this report is to respond to City Council's direction to review and report back on the feasibility of excluding the development located at 461 Sheppard Avenue East from permit parking should it be implemented on an area or street-based basis in the future.

 

Staff have determined that exclusion is feasible and has no objections to excluding the development located at 461 Sheppard Avenue East. If City Council excludes this address from a street or area subsequently authorized to be licenced for on-street parking, residents and visitors of this address will be prohibited from participating in the on-street permit parking program.
