North York Community Council :

1. Authorized the installation of speed humps on Via Bagnato, between Dane Avenue and Lawrence Avenue West.

2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway for the installation of two (2) speed humps on Via Bagnato, between Dane Avenue and Lawrence Avenue West, generally as shown on Attachment 2, Drawing TC-249 dated April 2024, attached to the report (April 22, 2024) entitled "Traffic Calming (Speed Humps) - Via Bagnato, between Dane Avenue and Lawrence Avenue West" from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.  

3. Recognized that the enactment of by-laws to authorize the traffic calming and road alteration identified in Parts 1 and 2 above shall not be deemed to be an assumption by the City of the public highways noted so as to render the City liable for the repair or for any damages resulting from the non-repair within the meaning of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, Section 42, nor shall the enactment of by-laws be deemed to be an assumption by the City under the provisions of the Subdivision Agreement between Dufflaw Realty Ltd. and the City dated June 1, 2015, as amended.

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision.

Transportation Services is recommending the installation of speed humps on Via Bagnato, between Dane Avenue and Lawrence Avenue West. Staff's assessment indicates the criteria as set out in the updated Traffic Calming Policy has been satisfied. Therefore, speed humps should be installed on Via Bagnato, between Dane Avenue and Lawrence Avenue West.
