City Council Decision
City Council on March 20 and 21, 2024, adopted the following:
1. City Council express its support for the Canadian Independent Music Association and the Canadian Live Music Association in their efforts in requesting the Government of Canada to increase its annual contribution to the Canada Music Fund to $50 million by 2024-2025 as pledged during the 2021 federal election.
2. City Council forward this item to the Minister of Canadian Heritage, the Canadian Independent Music Association, and the Canadian Live Music Association advising of Toronto City Council’s support.

Speaker Nunziata advised Council that the provisions of Chapter 27, Council Procedures, require that Motion MM16.5 be referred to the Economic and Community Development Committee. A two-thirds vote of the Council Members present is required to waive referral.
