Origin

(June 26, 2024) Report from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services

Summary

This staff report is about a matter that Community Council has delegated authority from City Council to make a final decision.

Transportation Services is recommending relocating the existing School Bus Loading Zone as well as creating a 10-minute short term parking area that operates during school times. The proposed changes will provide an area for parents/guardians to park in order to accompany students to/from the school while the relocated School Bus Loading Zone will allow the school bus loading area to be better monitored from the school office.

During the course of the investigation, it was noted that there is a discrepancy between posted signs and the existing School Bus Loading Zone regulation. Recommendation 3 will correct this inconsistency.
