Summary

This report provides information on the status of the Exhibition Place Health and Safety program, specifically on activities, priorities, and performance during the fourth quarter of 2023, and overall health and safety performance for 2023.

In the fourth quarter of 2023, there were zero (0) lost-time injuries and four (4) medical aid injuries, which is a decrease in lost-time injuries and an increase in medical aid from the same period in 2022. In 2023, four (4) WSIB claims were denied.

Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) invoiced costs for 2023 was approximately $36,000 higher than those in 2022. The higher WSIB fees are attributable to an increase in recurring disability payments and pension claim costs.
