City Council Decision
City Council on April 17 and 18, 2024, adopted the following:
1. City Council appoint the following candidates to the Committee of Adjustment for a term of office ending November 14, 2026, and until successors are appointed:
North York Panel:
Nadini Sankar-Peralta
Scarborough Panel:
Nancy Oomen
Toronto and East York Panel:
Nazila Atarodi West
2. City Council direct that Confidential Attachment 1 to the Letter (April 8, 2024) from the Nominating Panel - Committee of Adjustment remain confidential in its entirety as it relates to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Committee of Adjustment.
Confidential Attachment 1 to the Decision Letter (April 8, 2024) from the Nominating Panel – Committee of Adjustment remains confidential in its entirety in accordance with the provisions of the City of Toronto Act, 2006, as it relates to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Committee of Adjustment.

Nazila Atarodi West
Nazila Atarodi West is the owner of West Design Inc. with over 23 years of experience in the architecture, interior design, specializing in commercial spaces. She was a former member of the Committee of Adjustment. Nazila holds a Masters degree in Urban Design and a Masters degree in Architecture. She is the recipient of the University of Toronto’s Gordon Cressy Leadership Awards and the Arbor Awards. Nazila is a community supporter, urban enthusiast, faculty member, and design manager.
Nancy Oomen
Nancy Oomen is an accomplished Government and Community Relations Professional with a broad base of experience, including managing community projects and working with diverse stakeholders and community organizations on planning matters and strategizing key issues. She is recognized for her use of sound judgement, strong public consultation and mediation skills and relationship building. Nancy previously served as Chair and City-wide chair for the Committee of Adjustment.
Nadini Sankar-Peralta
Nadini has worked in federal/provincial governments in senior positions advising on policy, government resources, health care and negotiating land claims, to name a few. Nadini is also a qualified, multilingual, accredited mediator/arbitrator in good standing with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada/Ontario and the Ontario Association of Family Mediation. She is doing her Juris Doctor degree in Law and is a current Board Director at the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Ontario.
