Community Council Decision
The Toronto and East York Community Council:
1. Waived the polling requirement under the City's Traffic Calming Policy and authorized the installation of traffic calming (speed humps) on Hallam Street, between Ossington Avenue and Shaw Street.
2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a By-law to alter sections of the roadway on Hallam Street, between Ossington Avenue and Shaw Street, to install three speed humps, generally as shown on the Attachment 1 to the letter (October 30, 2023) from Councillor Dianne Saxe.
3. Rescinded the existing 40 kilometres per hour speed limit on Hallam Street, between Shaw Street and Dovercourt Road.
4. Designated a 30 kilometres per hour speed limit on Hallam Street, between Shaw Street and Dovercourt Road.

Residents contacted my office requesting speed humps on Hallam Street between Ossington Avenue and Shaw Street
Residents have observed an increase in local traffic and speeds. The installation of speed humps may assist in mitigating some of the cut-through traffic and make conditions safer for local vulnerable road users.
