2. Directed the City Solicitor to prepare a by-law to alter the roadway to install three speed humps on Clonmore Drive, between Blantyre Avenue and Fallingbrook Road, generally as shown on the attached Drawing TC-139, dated April 2023 from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services.
3. Requested Transportation Services to investigate the feasibility of installation of traffic calming measures (speed humps) on Clonmore Drive between Fallingbrook Road and Gerrard Street East and report back to Scarborough Community Council.
Origin
Summary
This segment of Clonmore Drive runs along the northwest side of Blantyre Park. As the park is a popular destination for people of all ages in both winter and summer, there is an increased amount of both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Over the years, residents of Clonmore Drive have repeatedly expressed serious concerns for the safety of pedestrians, especially children, due to speeding on the street. Therefore, I support the implementation of traffic calming.
