(January 9, 2023) Report from the Director, Traffic Management, Transportation Services

Summary

This staff report is about a matter for which Community Council has delegated authority to make a final decision, provided that it is not amended so that it varies with City policy or by-laws.

Transportation Service is requesting North York Community Council to amend the times of the westbound left-turn prohibition out of the northerly access to the Brian Public School parking lot on Brian Drive. The amended times are from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Currently the turn prohibition is in effect from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

The amended times of the turn prohibition will accommodate the revised school day times. Westbound left turns out of the school driveway are potentially unsafe because there is a school crosswalk just south of the driveway.
