City Council Decision

City Council on December 13, 14, and 15, 2023, adopted the following:

 

1. City Council appoint the following candidates to the Exhibition Place Board of Governors, at pleasure of Council, for a term of office ending on December 16, 2027, and until successors are appointed:

Aakanksha Verma

  

2. City Council direct that Confidential Attachments 1 to 6 to the report (October 31, 2023) from the City Clerk remain confidential in their entirety as they relate to personal matters about identifiable individuals being considered for appointment to the Exhibition Place Board.

Malcolm Bromley

 

Malcolm Bromley has enjoyed a distinguished 41 year career in Municipal Parks and Recreation and Community Service. He retired in June 2020 after ten years as the General Manager of the Vancouver Board of Parks and Recreation and Vice Chair of the Pacific National Exhibition. Prior to that he was the Director of Recreation for the City of Toronto, after 29 years of working in many inner city community centres and neighborhoods. He is married with 3 grown children and lives in west Toronto.

 

Aakanksha Verma

 

Aakanksha Verma, Head of Client and Product Strategy, Royal Bank of Canada, Bank US, leverages over 12 years of financial and consulting expertise with strategic leadership. With a Rotman Masters in Business Administration and a Bachelors in Engineering in Computer Science, she optimizes business and financial performance. Aakanksha champions inclusion as Royal Bank of Canada NextGen National Co-Chair, chairs Employee Giving Campaigns, and actively contributes to internal and external Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts, showcasing her commitment to positive impact within and beyond the corporate sphere.
